Kids these days have no idea what this even is
๐Ÿคฉ13๐Ÿ’ฏ7
When I was very young in my charter school we had people I guess from the state or the school board come in and they would test children on their read comprehension and I'm remembering some of it was very unusual. We would be asked to predict the content that would come next in the little book

At first this makes sense because its gauging if a child student is learning to connect text and make inferences based on what was read, it it later got a little more unusual like being asked to predict what the next book was about or to read off a page concealed by a large piece of black construction paper. I also remember being asked to visualize images propped up behind a piece of black construction paper.

I remember being instructed to imagine certain things while listening to an audio tape and I didn't like it because I thought they were weird or frightening things to imagine. This went on from Kindergarten to 3rd grade until I had to go to public schooling.
